GUNTUR: AP firemen have been pressed into service to clean up Guntur General Hospital, after the recent rat bite related deaths in the hospital.

According to Guntur fire station officer K. Vinay, sewerage drains at the hospital were completely blocked with waste and other material which was affecting free flow of water.

He added that they have engaged high pressure pumps to push the trash and other solid waste from the drains.

He said there are 12 small outlets to carry waste to a bigger drain which further takes the waste material to the major drainage canal.
