Attachment of Agri Gold assets okayed

Hyderabad: The special court at Eluru on Thursday confirmed the attachment orders of Agri Gold assets worth Rs 7,500 crore.
The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department had recently attached the properties of the scam-hit firm in five states viz. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Karna-taka and Odisha. The properties will be e-auctioned.
Though the book value is Rs 7,500 crore, it is estimated that the assets are worth more.
According to CID Inspector General Tirumal Rao, money will be returned to the depositors after the auction as per the legal process.
