Bajrang Dal takes legal route against Prof K S Bhagawan
VHP and Bajrang Dal activists plan to file 100 complaints against the retired professor
MANGALURU: A novel combination of a slew of police complaints and ‘Gandhigiri’ will be employed by activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal rather than their trademark sloganeering and mutinous rallies to protest against rationalist Prof K. S. Bhagawan (in pic) for his anti-Hindu statement.
These activists plan to file 100 complaints against the retired professor within a week in various places across the state, and chant “Jai Sri Ram” during phone calls made to him.
So far, six complaints have been filed against the controversial professor at Vittla, Uppinangady, Moodabidri, Bantwal, Bajpe and Kavoor police stations in Dakshina Kannada district for “hurting the sentiments of Hindus,” during his speech at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru last week.
“Prof Bhagawan has repeatedly issued statements that hurt the sentiments of Hindus. We want legal action against him and thus have decided to file complaints against him. As many as 100 complaints will be filed throughout the state against him within a week,” Jagadish Shenava, VHP’s district unit president, told Deccan Chronicle, adding “let him endure all trouble that one faces when a case is filed against him. Once the complaint is filed and a case registered, he has to frequently go to police stations and courts which will be a tough task for him.”
