Hyderabad: Three people died of dengue in the city on Thursday. Home guard Raju Goud died in a private hospital in Uppal while eight-year-old Rani from Medak district died in Gandhi Hospital.
 
The third death was of G. Srinivas Reddy, a 42-year-old farmer from Pasra village of Govindaraopet mandal in Warangal. He died while being shifted to MGM hospital from a private hospital.
 
His wife Ms Padma said that he had been suffering from fever for the last five days and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. When he failed to recover, they decided to shift him to the government hospital but he succumbed on the way. 
 
While Goud’s body has been taken to his home town in Nalgonda district, the district health and medical officers in Hyderabad were not informed about the dengue death.
 
Rani had been shifted from a private hospital in Medak to Gandhi Hospital early on Thursday morning with a platelet count of 23,000. However she did not survive.
 
Meanwhile, the Fever Hospital is seeing a huge rush of patients complaining of fever. Of the 24 blood samples tested in the last two days, 17 have positive for dengue.
