Digital Inroad to help cut unemployment
Students with programming skills in rural areas to be identified
KOZHIKODE: A few youngsters from Kozhikode in collaboration with the District Employment office and support from the District administration is carrying out their mission to erase unemployment in the State by signing on with Digital Inroad.
District Collector N Prasanth inaugurated the project at Hilite Mall on Friday, in the presence of noted personalities from the IT sector in the State.
The company, Baabtra.com, has introduced project Digital Inroad, which identifies students with programming talent in rural areas and equips them to become software resources through training.
The project consists of assessments of students, orientation, free training, partnering with employability centers of Government departments and thereby creating an IT resource pool map of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said, “Unemployment among the graduates is a growing concern in our region, which has to be erased as soon as possible, and digital inroad is an attempt . To give them orientation to join the blooming software industry in Kozhikode is of prime importance”, he added.
Baabtra.com has been conducting orientation programmes and training courses for graduates in developing their skills in a specialized sector with 100 percent placement in various MNCs in and around the State for the last four years.
Job seekers in the IT sector will not only be helped in finding a suitable job as per their qualification, the Digital Inroad project would also help non- IT graduates in securing a job through an easy channel, said the CEO of Babbbtra Muhammad Haris NP.
