Rs 1,000 crore special assistance to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: The Centre has announced a special assistance of Rs 1,000 crore to AP in the ongoing financial year for the new capital, seven backward districts and Polavaram irrigation project. However, this falls short of the demands made by the AP government. 
 
AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had recently submitted a memorandum to Centre seeking Rs 8,100 crore for capital city Amaravati.
