Actor Kathir’s recent release Kirumi where he has played a ‘police informer’ has been receiving good response. An actor with an engineering background from Coimbatore, Kathir says his entry into the film industry was accidental. “Though I was keen to act in films, I wanted to complete my studies first and then join the industry. But when I got an offer for the movie Madha Yaanai Koottam from GV Prakash sir who turned producer with this film, I could not resist. So, I had to discontinue my studies,” he explains. “I could relate to a lot of things from my life in reality when director Anucharan narrated the script. So, I was able to convey exactly what the director expected from me,” he reveals. Kathir’s kitty now is full with films including Ennodu Vilayadu and another one with director Jagdeesh. “Ennodu Vilayadu is a film that revolves around horse betting. It is a double hero subject where I’m sharing screen space with Bharath,” he says. While Bharath plays a guy who wants to make quick bucks through gambling, Kathir’s character is happy to live within his means. Sanchitha Shetty is paired opposite to him.
