After singing for films like Happy Ending and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Rahul Pandey had his latest cinematic outing with the Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero. In an interview with us, Rahul discusses his musical inclinations:
The song on repeat on my iPod:
My latest song — Jab We Met from Hero... I just can’t seem to get over it! Not just because it’s my song but because it’s really peppy and upbeat.
If I had to put together a ‘soundtrack’ for my life, the five songs on it would be:
Milegi Milegi Manzil (Lucky Ali), Jee Le Zara (Talaash), Country Roads (John Denver), Rehna Tu (Delhi 6), Zindagi Ik Safar Hai Suhana...these songs best describe various phases of my life as a musician.
What I listen to when:
I’m happy and upbeat: Summer of 69
I’m really low: Kuch Iss Tarah... this song touches my heart.
I’m working out: Calvin Harris’ Summer, Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars
Music I used to love growing up, that I’m now embarrassed by when I look back: Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way!
I’d describe my taste in music as: spanning different genres, including world music.
My favorite time/way to listen to music during the day: Travel time is the best ‘me’ time I get and it’s incomplete without music. I also look forward to my workout sessions because of music, many-a-time.
If I could have (had) one band in the world/a musician perform a private concert for me it would have to be: The great B.B. King. I would have considered myself privileged indeed if I could have seen him perform even once.
And the one live act I would love to see at least once in my life: Bon Jovi...their music, their performances and the energy they put in is simply outstanding.
