Man set ablaze by friends in Hyderabad
The victim is identified as Anand Kumar
Hyderabad: Two men set on fire one of their childhood friends after he denied to loan them Rs 1 lakh. He suffered more than 60 per cent burns and is undergoing treatment.
Police said they were after the victim for more than two months to get the loan, but he expressed his inability to arrange the amount. Angered friends set him ablaze after pouring kerosene on him Saturday night in Jagathgirigutta area. The victim is identified as Anand Kumar, a welding worker and resident of Maqdoom Nagar in Jagathgirigutta area. Accused Rakesh and Babar are his childhood friends.
On the night of Saturday, the two men got heavily drunk and came to Anand’s home and took him out for a talk. They came near Pochamma temple and demanded of him to arrange the money immediately. When he refused, Babar who was carrying can of petrol poured it on him, while Rakesh lit the match stick and threw it on Anand, said Jagathgirigutta inspector Kushalkar. Police arrested Babar, while Rakesh was absconding.
