Thiruvananthapuram: The provincial government of Australian capital region will provide technical support to the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) of the state government.

This was decided  at a meeting held by the  provincial government delegation led by Education Minister Ms Joy Burch with Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb here on Tuesday.

The provincial government would enter into an MoU with ASAP in  January. Ms Burch told reporters  that her government’s policy was to cooperate with small and modern projects.

There was also a plan to start student exchan-ge programmes between the two countries for a better understanding  on the need for skill development, Ms Burch said.

The capital region government would also cooperate with the community skill parks project under ASAP. In the first phase a community skill park will be started in  each district.
In the second stage, one skill park would be formed in each Assembly constituency.

The skill park with 20,000 square feet will be constructed at a place suggested by the MLA.
