Don’t be too upset the next time it’s your turn to do the dishes. This is because scientists now say that daily chores could be beneficial for health and overall wellbeing.
The study, which was carried out by scientists at the Florida State University, found that people who do the dishes mindfully, in other words focus on their actions carefully, experience less stress and nervousness. They had initially set out to discover of washing up could be used as an informal contemplative practise to promote mindfulness and enhance emotional wellbeing.
The results of this research project have been published in the journal Mindfulness, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
