Man attempts suicide in Warangal

Hyderabad: A man from Warangal attempted suicide by pouring kerosene over his body near the Assembly here on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old agitator, N. Raj Kumar, was part of the Chalo Assembly rally. However, city police foiled his attempt by swiftly taking him into preventive custody.

Police said he came to the city to participate in the rally and managed to reach close to the Assembly by evading police.

He was carrying a bottle of kerosene, which he poured on his body. Security personnel immobilized him. Later he was taken into hospital, police said.
