Isolated heavy rain likely in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: An isolated heavy rainfall warning has been issued for coastal Andhra Pradesh (AP) for the next 24 hours by IMD.
 
“Isolated heavy rain would occur in the districts of East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore,” the IMD forecast said. 
 
Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over coastal AP, Rayalaseema and Telangana in the next five days.
 
“The upper air cyclonic circulation over Rayalaseema has become less marked. The upper air cyclonic circulation over Tenasserim coast and adjoining Andaman sea extending up to mid-troposphere persists,” the IMD said. 
 
In the last 24 hours, in Telangana, Palakurthi mandal of Warangal recorded the maximum rainfall of 5 cm followed by Mahbubabad, Kothagudem mandals of Warangal district and Pinapaka. Dummu-gudem mandals of Khammam recorded 3 cm rains.
 
In Andhra Pradesh, the Piduguralla mandal of Guntur, Kaikalur, Gudivada mandals of Krishna district, Peddapuram (a) of East Godavari district and Nandavaram of Kurnool district recorded the maximum rainfall of 3 cm each.
