Lal to play fashion designer in King Liar
Kings Liar will be Lal’s first film without Venu as the cinematographer
Actor Dileep’s upcoming film King Liar has been in the news since its announcement, as it is for this project that the ‘estranged’ hit making duo – Siddique-Lal is again collaborating after a gap of sixteen years. This time Lal will call the shots for the script written by Siddique. The latest news is that, along with direction, Lal is acting in King Liar in the role of a fashion designer. It is for the very first time in his career that the director turned actor is appearing in the role of a fashion designer.
Confirming the news, Lal says that he will be donning the role of a fashion designer named Anand Varma, which is a prominent character in the film adding that more details about the character cannot be divulged now. It is for the second time Lal appearing on his own directorial venture after having essayed the title character in Cobra along with Mammootty. King Liar will be Lal’s third acting venture on Siddique’s script. Earlier he has acted in Friends (cameo appearance) and Engal Anna (Tamil remake of Chronic Bachelor.)
King Liar, which has Premam fame Madonna in the lead role, will start rolling from October 15 at Kuttanad in Alappuzha. Ernakulam and Dubai are the other major locations of the film which has dialogues written by Bipin Chandran, the screen writer of Best Actor and 1983. The film features an ensemble cast, which includes Asha Shareth, Suresh Krishna, Soubin Shahir and Balu Varghese. Deepak Dev, who debuted with Siddique’s Chronic Bachelor, will compose the sound tracks of the film. He has earlier collaborated with Lal in Tournament and Cobra (Score). Kings Liar will be Lal’s first film without Venu as the cinematographer. Alby, who cranked Junior Lal’s Honey Bee and Hi I am Tony, has been roped in to wield the camera.
