Can’t have Jumbo Savari on Ayudha Pooja: Maharani Pramoda Devi
It would come in the way of their private ceremonies at the palace
MYSURU: Maharani Pramoda Devi on Saturday expressed disappointment over the state government’s decision to hold Jumbo Savari procession on the same day as Ayudha pooja, saying it would come in the way of their private ceremonies at the palace.
She told reporters here: “Like the previous year, Navami and Dashami have fallen on the same day. Ayudha pooja, Vijaya yaathre, Shami pooja and other customs and traditions of the royal family at the palace will begin as early as 5 am and conclude at 7 pm on October 22. We have already sent the list of programmes to be held at the palace on October 22nd to the district administration and the state government. I am not aware as to why the state government has decided to organise the famous procession on October 22 itself. We have been witnessing such kind of problems for the first time. The state government may have to reconsider the decision. We will communicate with the government,” she added.
