KARIMNAGAR: The National Thermal Power Corporation’s super thermal power station at Ramagundam has been adjudged the world’s best  in 2015 in the  category of coal fired electricity generation, by a US-based publication, Power.

The 130-year-old publication is considered to be the definitive information source for the power generation market.

“For nearly four decades, this plant has been an essential power  provider as it added capacity over the years. Even as the plant ages,  it has been setting new performance records,” Power said in its report.

Reacting to this, Ramagundam ED P. K. Mohapatra said, “The vintage power station has always been a consistent performer. What distinguishes NTPC-Ramagundam from others is its adoption of new technology, taking care of the environment.”
