Talking about playing Gona Gannareddy in Rudhramadevi, Allu Arjun says, “Every Telugu person will feel proud after watching this film.” He adds that he speaks in a pure Telangana dialect in the film.

“In villages people speak in the Telangana dialect and all my dialogues are written in the same manner. I also took a few classes to speak in the accent,” says Allu Arjun.

“What we speak in the city is not the pure language. The real beauty is in the villages. If you go to a village near Warangal or Mahabubnagar, you can hear the shudh Telangana language,” he says.

He adds that everyone worked hard for the film but the main credit should go to Anushka. “I don’t think any other actress could fit into this character except Anushka.”

He says that all big stars should do these kind of characters.  “We all do regular, commercial cinema but when these special roles come, every top actor should do them. Only then will we get different kind of cinema in the future,” he says.

“Also, when I told Trivikram that I was doing this role, he was supposed to start shooting my next film at that time, but he immediately asked me to concentrate on this role.

Director Gunasekhar meanwhile says that if anyone Googles Rudhramadevi, Anushka’s name comes up. “The future generation will get to know the history of our Telugu culture and tradition and Anushka’s name will be remembered for long,” says the director.
