More heavy rains predicted for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

The IMD has predicted more rains in both the states

Hyderabad: Moderate rain and thundershowers will occur at many places in Telangana and AP, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday. Heavy rains has been predicted in isolated places in all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The meteorological department  said that heavy rains would occur at isolated places all over Telangana, including Hyderabad, except in Karimnagar, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts in the next 24 hours. In the last 48 hours, the two states recorded moderate rains at a few places.

On Sunday, Thimmajipeta mandal of Mahbubnagar district in Telangana recorded the maximum rainfall of 8 cm, followed by Nagarkurnool, Kothagudem (Warangal) at 7 cm, Gudur, Manchal (Ranga Reddy) Jadcherl (Mahbubnagar) at 6 cm and Golkonda (Hyderabad) and Chinna Chintakunta (Mahbubnagar) at 5 cm.

In AP, Palakonda of Srikakulam district recorded the maximum rainfall of 8 cm followed by Kurupam (Vizianagaram) 7 cm, and Muddanur (Kadapa) at 6 cm and Settur, Gooty (both Anantapur), Chimakurthi (Prakasam) and Merakamudidam (Vizianagaram) at 5 cm.

The meteorological department said that the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema. Temperatures were appreciably above normal at many places over Telangana and coastal AP, the IMD said.
