Hyderabad: The ruling TRS has stepped up political activity in the Narayankhed Assembly constituency in Medak district, where a bypoll has been necessitated following the death in August of sitting MLA P. Kistha Reddy of the Congress.

While Congress has been pitching for unanimous election of one of the family members of the late Kistha Reddy as a tribute to the departed leader, the TRS has been giving indications of contesting the elections with the series of visits to the constituency by its top leaders.

The TRS top brass expects the bypoll notification soon after the Bihar Assembly elections end on November 5.

After irrigation minister T. Harish Rao’s visit to Narayankhed last month, it was the turn of panchayat raj and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday to take up a whirlwind tour of the constituency to launch various development programmes.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker of TS Legislative Assembly, Padma Devender Reddy, who represents Medak Assemby constituency.

Mr Rama Rao promised to develop Narayankhed as a model constituency and sought complete support from the public for TRS.
