‘Sankarabharanam’ producer Nageswara Rao’s death condoled
All India Telugu Federation condoled the demise of Telugu film producer Edida Nageswara Rao
Chennai: All India Telugu Federation condoled the demise of Telugu film producer Edida Nageswara Rao who had produced a series of hits. Describing Nageswara Rao as a producer with rare qualities of courage, conviction and immense faith in Indian culture, AITF president Dr C. M. K. Reddy said Nageswara Rao had produced pictures of high quality unmindful of the returns.
“Though Sankarabharanam may be considered as a milestone in the history of Telugu films, he had spent sleepless nights, before its release and till it was accepted by the masses.
Initially, Sankarabharanam was not considered by the juries for the national award, but after seeing the movie, then President, Dr. Neelam Sajiva Reddy intervened and created a special category of award for it, ‘Best Popular Movie’, in that year,” Dr Reddy said. He demonstrated to the world how to make a popular movie, without compromising on values and lived up to his commitment till the end.
