Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, for the third time in a row. Sources said Mr Rao appraised Governor on the conclusion of Assembly session, drought conditions in the state, relief operations, and the deliberate attempts of the Opposition to disrupt proceedings demanding farm loans be cleared in one go, among others.

The CM spent nearly two hours in the Raj Bhavan, during which he told the Governor of his decision to hold a PowerPoint presentation at a meeting of all parties, legislators, public organisations, journalists either on October 15 or 16.

He also discussed the government schemes, pending issues in the Reorganisation Act, welfare and other schemes.

Speculation is rife that Mr Rao met the Governor in connection with the Cabinet reshuffle (some reports even fixed October 9 as the date) though minister for Legislative Affairs T. Harish Rao had denied such reports.

“There was no discussion on Cabinet expansion. Cabinet expansion may take place in December after byelections,” a source in the government said.

Mr Rao informed the Governor that the PowerPoint presentation will be on redesigning of irrigation projects.
