Congress ‘torturing’ farmers: BJP
Suresh Kumar said it was a shameful act on the part of the state government
Bengaluru: The state BJP has slammed the destruction of the maize crop of a farmer, Neelappa Hirebidari of Gudagur village in Ranebennur taluk for erection of a stage for Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s programme. Party spokesperson Suresh Kumar said it was a shameful act on the part of the state government. Instead of boosting the morale of farmers following a series of suicides, the government is further mentally torturing them by destroying crops, Mr. Suresh Kumar criticized. He also slammed the police department for failing to prevent sexual assaults against women in the state. Because of this, the crime rate has increased in the state, he said adding the job of the police is not to do a postmortem after the incident has happened, it has to prevent such incidents.
