Rahman is Seychelles’ cultural ambassador

Double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman has got yet another prestigious honour for his immeasurable impact on global music and cinema. This time around the Ministry of Tourism and Culture has honoured him in a unique manner.

He is now the Cultural Ambassador For Seychelles for his contribution to the development of arts and culture in their country.

A delighted Rahman shared the news and image of the certificate with his fans and followers on his social networking site. “With love and regards to the people and government of Seychelles,” he captioned the picture.

An honour: The certificate that announces him as the cultural ambassador

The certificate reads as follows.  “The Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture proudly names A.R. Rahman Cultural Ambassador for Seychelles in appreciation for the invaluable services contributed to enhance Seychelles’ Art and Cultural development”.

One may recall that A.R. Rahman was invited as the Cultural Ambassador by American President Barrack Obama for the prestigious State Dinner that was hosted by him to honour Dr. Manmohan Singh on his official visit to United States of America a few years ago.
