BENGALURU: The First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court has issued summons to the seer of Sri Ramachandrapura Math, Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami, directing him to appear before the court on Friday in connection with the rape case filed by Ramkatha singer Pramalatha.

The CID police, who had investigated the case, had filed a chargesheet in the court recently. When the case came up for hearing on Thursday, the judge issued summons to the accused directing him to appear before the court in person on Friday and adjourned the hearing. Meanwhile, the 52nd Sessions Court has adjourned the hearing of the petition of the CID seeking cancellation of bail granted to the accused seer till October 16.

The CID has filed a petition seeking the court to quash the anticipatory bail granted to the seer in connection with the second rape case filed against the seer. The prosecution argued that the seer had not turned up for medical tests and it was a clear violation of bail conditions and hence it should be cancelled.

The counsel appearing for the accused submitted that the petition of the seer seeking stay order on the medical tests is still pending before the High Court and requested the court to adjourn the hearing for 20 days. However, the judge adjourned the hearing till October 16.
