Opposition steps up attack on K Chandrasekhar Rao
Mr Shabbir Ali said Mr Rao convened the session from September 23 to prevent his Cabinet from being dissolved
Hyderabad: Bachao Telangana Mission president Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that if Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao fails to control farmer suicides by Dasara, he would launch a “KCR ko hatao, kisan ko bachao” campaign across the state.
Dr Reddy met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday to enlighten him about the severe drought conditions, farmer suicides, the conduct of the Assembly session and suspension of the entire Opposition from the House.
Elsewhere, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohd Ali Shabbir said that the just-concluded Assembly session exposed Mr Rao’s weakness.
“He simply fulfilled a Constitutional obligation, enacted a drama for a few days and then ran away from debating public issues,” he alleged.
Mr Shabbir Ali said Mr Rao convened the session from September 23 to prevent his Cabinet from being dissolved. As per Article 85 of the Constitution, it is mandatory to convene Assembly session once every six months, he said.
