Delhi BJP unit slams AAP govt over Asim Khan sacking
BJP accused the government of shielding Asim Khan
New Delhi: BJP on Saturday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party government over the issue and asked why the action was not taken earlier despite knowing that Khan was involved in corruption for a long time.
Addressing a press conference, state party chief Satish Upadhyay and Opposition leader Vijender Gupta accused the government of shielding Khan.
"Government tried to save Asim Ahmed Khan till the end. When it felt that the charges of corruption on Khan will become public, only then CM called a press conference and announced his dismissal to show that the party and government is clean," Gupta told reporters here.
The BJP leaders also accused Ballimaran MLA Imran Hussain, who will replace Khan in the Cabinet, of being "corrupt".
