Guntur: There is increasing response from people to YSR Congress president, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s Deeksha demanding special category status to AP. The indefinite fast was on for the third day on Friday at Guntur. Various sections of people visited the camp.

A medical team from GGH, Guntur conducted checks on Mr Reddy. His sugar level was 94 mg, pulse was 80 and blood pressure 110/70. He was weak on the third day but continued to meet people. YSRC activists and leaders from various districts including Guntur attended the Deeksha.

Students and educated unemployed youths from Tenali, Mangalagiri, Chilakaluripeta, Macharla and other areas of Guntur district attended the Deeksha and expressed solidarity. Unemployed youths, N. Suresh, B. Raju, M. Yousuf and others said that TD promised to provide a job to every family and distribute dole to the unemployed till they get a job. But 18 months had passed and nothing had been done.

The students felt the state can develop swiftly with subsidies and exemptions given under SCS. There will be an increase in industry, business and trading activity, which will provide jobs. The TD government had failed to get SCS despite having the right in the AP Reorganisation Act. Expressing their support to the Deeksha, they demanded that the TD government pressurise BJP for SCS.

Meanwhile, YSRC leaders and activists organised a road blockade at Tenali. The Mala Mahanadu, Navyandhra Student JAC, Nirudyogula Ikya Vedika, YSRC ST cell president, Mogili Madhu, ST Welfare Association president, Rama Swamy and leaders of associations met Jagan and expressed solidarity.
