Kasthuri who went to Saudi two months ago to work, as housemaid was not paid her salaries
Chennai: The family members of Kasthuri are eagerly awaiting to get positive reply from the Commissioner of Rehabilitation and Public department to safely secure her from Saudi Riyadh Kingdom Hospital and bring her to India, for taking further treatment and action against Saudi employer.
Kasthuri who went to Saudi two months ago to work, as housemaid was not paid her salaries. When she started demanding her salaries and also wanted to go back to India, her employer by engaging some persons chopped off her hand, sources said.
Her husband Munirathnam, son Mohan and other relatives on last Monday petitioned the Vellore district collector Dr R.Nanthagopal to safely secure her from Saudi Arabia. The collector on receiving the petitions forwarded it to the commissioner of rehabilitation and public department to take it up with the External Affairs ministry.
According to the relatives of Kasthuri, she had to take up the job as a domestic worker since a situation had arisen to sell her house. Her son Mohan, who is physically challenged could not earn. She got the job through an agent in Thiruvannamalai.
She was subjected to torture ever since she joined her duty as maidservant, her family members said. When she insisted that she wanted to go back to India with her two months' salary, her employer had allegedly engaged some one and chopped her hand and admitted to her in a hospital there, the familymembers said.
