Two CRFP constables hurt in pressure bomb blast in Chhattisgarh

The CRPF personnel were patrolling when they accidentally stepped on the bomb

Raipur: Two Central Reserve Police Force constables were on Saturday injured after a pressure bomb, allegedly planted by Maoists, exploded in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bijapur district.

"The incident took place in Murdanda village under the Avapalli police station limits. R L Suresh and Abhay Pratap Singh attached with the 168th battalion of CRPF sustained injuries," Additional Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, Indira Kalyan Elesela told PTI over phone.

The CRPF personnel were patrolling in the area when Suresh and Pratap accidentally stepped on the bomb. Additional forces have been rushed to the spot. The injured have been airlifted to Raipur and admitted to hospital, he said.

Efforts are on to trace the Naxals involved in the incident, the officer added.
