ChennaiAccusing the AIADMK regime of not doing enough to contain the spread of dengue in the state, PMK founder Dr Ramadoss on Saturday said it is unfortunate that the government has not taken any action to contain dengue.

Claiming that eight persons have succumbed to dengue in the state, Ramadoss, in a statement, said the disease has been spreading rapidly in many districts during the recent months, but one person each in Chennai, Karur, Tirunelveli and two persons each in Tiruvallur and Dharmapuri have succumbed to the disease have died due to the government’s inaction in the last month alone.

Urging the state to take steps on a war footing to ensure the supply of necessary equipment and drugs to treat dengue from primary health centers to medical college hospitals, Ramadoss said the state should make public the actual state of the disease spread and the damage it had caused in the state.
