Hubballi:Children of a higher primary school in Maidur village on Saturday got an opportunity to interact with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Four of the 94 students, who attended the session, were allowed to ask four questions.

Fourth standard student Vinayak Giriyammanavar asked Mr Gandhi what are his plans to make India a prosperous nation if he becomes the Prime Minister. The Congress leader returned the same question to the student, who replied that he wants to become the PM, making everyone burst out in laughter. When Suma Anishetar asked him to list out plans to develop renewable energy resources in rural areas, Mr Gandhi said  rural children are the main resource of the country.

The question by Class 7 student Nandish Hiremath as to how Mr Gandhi about would improve rural schools prompted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to announce '50 lakh for the development of the 90-year old school in the village.
