Farmers heave sigh of relief in Rayalaseema

Rain occurred at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

HYDERABAD: The first weeks of October have brought moderate to heavy rainfall to the rain-deficit Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Heavy to very heavy rain was recorded in a few places in the region and this would continue for three to four days, the weather bureau has said.

In the last 24 hours, Madanapalle mandal of Chittoor district recorded the maximum rainfall of 9 cm followed by Pulivendula mandal of Cuddapah. Arogyavaram mandal of Chittoor district recorded 7 cm rainfall.

Arogyavaram(Arg), Gurramkonda mandals of Chittoor district recorded 6 cm rainfall followed by Tadpatri mandal of Anantapur district which saw 5cm rainfall.

Rain occurred at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In coastal Andhra Pradesh, a maximum rainfall of 3 cm was recorded at Kandukur mandal of Prakasam district. And the rainfall would carry  on for another week.
