Filling of nominated posts delayed in Telangana
There are 3,500 posts, will be filled up before the festival
Hyderabad: The much-talked about filling of nominated posts in government-owned corporations is unlikely to happen before Dasara, as was earlier thought of. Indications are that it would take more time.
However, the posts in all the temple and market committees, that together have over 3,500 posts, will be filled up before the festival, TRS sources said here on Sunday.
“The Chief Minister has more or less identified names for 18 corporations so far and he is weighing the pros and cons of accommodating more party seniors without inviting any trouble,” a party source said, adding, “The CM was keen on filling the vacancies either on October 17 or 18, but chances now are that he may wait for a few more days.”
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation and the State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation are among the 18 entities for which names have been more or less identified, but a question arose as to whether legislators should be appointed or senior party leaders.
For example, RTC chairman post was offered to party MLA K. Vidyasagara Rao as also Enugu Ravinder Reddy. Similarly, Industrial Infrastructure Corporation chairman post was promised to former MLA Koppula Hariswara Reddy as also to another legislator.
“The nominations for corporation chairman posts may take some more time as the CM wants to consult party leaders before finalising the names,” the source said.
Mr Rao has, meanwhile, taken up an exercise to limit the number for the party’s highest policy making body, the Politburo, to just six—a sharp cut from the 54 in the dissolved body. Similarly, the state committee’s number also might come down to 40 from 220 in the dissolved body.
“KCR wanted to give a more serious look to the Politburo by drastically limiting the number and nominating only the senior-most leaders. Zeroing in on the names would take some time,” the source stressed.
Meanwhile, the exercise by the three-member ministerial committee that would make lists to install as many as 3,500 party leaders in various Market Yards and Endowment Temple Trust committees, is under way.
All such appointments will be completed before Dasara as directed by the Chief Minister.
