The title of Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu’s banner Picture Shuru Productions now sounds like an irony, as their maiden film Jagga Jasoos keeps going around in circles. After months of shooting, the film, which was initially supposed to be a musical, is not a musical anymore. The director has made some changes in the script now and doesn’t want to continue the film as a musical.
There were also reports about the makers not being happy with Govinda’s role in the film. But since that was shot already, they were considering replacing him with another actor and reshooting the sequence. That didn’t work out. Now, we hear Disney-UTV, which is the studio onboard for the film, has asked Anurag to rework the second half of the script.
A source close to the development said, “Siddharth Roy Kapur and Anurag met a couple of weeks ago and Siddharth asked him to narrate the second half as there have been many changes made in the script. Jagga Jasoos was to release this year but now, it will be releasing next year. Once the second half is rewritten with the new changes, the shoot of the film will begin.”
