CPM to contest from 16 seats, CPI given five
Kerala Congress and Kerala Congress (B) candidates are also contesting in one seat each
KOCHI: LDF has announced its list of candidates for the elections to the district panchayat. While the CPM candidates are contesting in 16 divisions, CPI has been given five seats.
One of the prominent candidates is Sarada Mohan, daughter of former chief minister P.K. Vasudevan Nair who will contest from the Kalady division.
Adv. K.N. Sugathan of CPI is contesting from Pampakkuda while Adv. George Edappar-athy of Kerala Congress is seeking mandate in Kolencherry.
Janta Dal is fielding M.P. Poulose in Karukutty. NCP’s candidates Laly Kuriachan and Mummy Century are in the fray from Vengola and Keezhmadu.
Kerala Congress and Kerala Congress (B) candidates are also contesting in one seat each.
Meanwhile, the UDF is yet to announce their candidates’ list for the district panchayat. Only the Congress has released its list of 19 candidates on Monday
