KOZHIKODE: Six students of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department at AWH College, Kuttikattoor here,  have developed a prototype of Google glass which enables one to connect with one’s digital devices from any part of the world. Smart phone, iPad, computer system, laptop etc which are  located at any place could be connected through the glass.

“We successfully brought all features of a smart phone like camera, audio and  video into the glass. The screen of a desktop is being brought to the screen of the glass. Thus a person in Kozhikode can check the data stored in his smartphone which is in the  US or UK,” said  P. Shamnad, one of the students. The glass is being operated through internet on wifi mode.

Vipin Valsalan,  K.P. Nihad Jiffri, Mohammed Shaheer, Mohammed Rafis and Sayyid Nabahan are the other members of the team  which took seven months to complete the project.

Their development  won the first prize in the ‘Gijut’ project competition conducted by Albertian Institute of Science and Technology (AISAT) at  Kalamassery recently.

The students are in the process of applying for patent and  hope  to get a helping hand from the government or other agencies to proceed with. Assistant Professor of ECE, Manuprasad,  was their guide.
