UDF, LDF plotting against third front: PS Sreedharan Pillai
BJP state general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan announced the first list of candidates for civic polls
KOCHI: BJP former state president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has condemned the alleged attempts of the UDF and LDF to obliterate the Hindu third front. While announcing the BJP candidates for polls to the Kochi Corporation and district panchayat here on Monday, Sreedharan Pillai said that with the SNDP’s entry, the third front had become a strong political alternative.
“Attempts by the LDF to destroy the third front and Vellappally will not succeed. The CPM has been using even the media as a tool for this,” he alleged.
During the meeting, BJP state general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan announced the first list of candidates for civic polls. Sitting councillor Sudha Dileep Kumar is contesting from Ernakulam central division.
Three seats have been given to the Kerala Congress while RSP (B. Thamarakshan) will contest in one seat. The party has not announced the names of candidates for 12 divisions in the corporation and five divisions in the district panchayat.
The party’s seniormost member Syamala S Prabhu, a sitting councillor does not figure in the first list.
“Discussions are on to finalise the development vision document of the party for civic polls. The final candidates’ list will be announced in the coming days,” said A.N. Radhakrishnan.
