Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Mumbai: After 'Lootera', music composer Amit Trivedi is caught in another plagiarism controversy. One of the songs 'Nazdeekiyaan' from 'Shaandar' which features Shahid and Alia allegedly sounds heavily influenced by Coldplay-Oceans. Coldplay-Oceans was launched last year in June and few months later work on 'Shaandar' had started. It is not the first time Amit Trivedi is stuck in this sticky situation. Reportedly, even during 'Lootera', directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Amit had allegedly lifted a portion of the background score from Hollywood film 'One Day'. According to reports even Portman’s ‘One Day’ was inspired by Rota’s ‘Romeo and Juliet' though its slower in tempo.

During the release of Lootera, director Vikramaditya had defended his music director by saying, " The music of the 'Lootera' teaser trailer hasn’t been copied from 'One Day'. The theme is sourced from a small musical bit composed by Amit Trivedi for a song that’s in the film, which we decided to expand and turn into a full fledged theme for the trailer."

While Amit is bitten by the plagiarism bug again, we leave you with the audio.

You decide for yourself if the song from 'Shaandar' sounds similar to Coldplay-Oceans.

The part where the singing begins in the song 'Nazdeekiyaan', seems to be heavily inspired.

We tried to get in touch with Amit Trivedi but he didn't respond to our message.
