Patna: Police resorted to lathi charge after BJP workers forcibly entered the helipad where party leaders along with BJP’s star campaigner and cine start Ajay Devgn was about to land. The incident occurred in Nalanda district, Biharsharif on Tuesday.
The public function was organized by BJP leaders to campaign in favour of their candidate and Ajay Devgn was to address the rally.
According to BJP workers, Mr Devgn was to speak on the issue of Jungle Raj in the state.Party leaders said the bollywood star would have played significant role by speaking on the issue like “Jungle Raj and deteriorating law and order” as Nalanda is also a home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“I came to know through my movies that kidnapping and murder is common in Bihar. Law and order is important for the development of any state”, Ajay Devgn had said earlier while addressing rallies in Nawada, Jamui and Lakhisarai last week.
According to sources, the mob in an attempt to have a glimpse of Ajay Devgn wanted to move in the front row while some had even stepped into the helipad and high security zone dismantling the barricades. The chopper carrying Ajay Devgn despite making several attempts to land failed and went back which resulted in heavy brick batting.
Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad escaped unhurt when a portion of the dais at his election meeting caved in due to overloading in Madhuvan Maidan in Arwal district on Tuesday.
Ajay expressed his anguish over the arrangements and tweeted,
Didn't expect such an overwhelming turnout at Bihar rallies yday, my request to administration for better arrangements next time.
