ChennaiNewly appointed chairman of the Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission (TNPSC) Dr K. Arulmozhi assumed charge on Wednesday and said that TNPSC’s online application services could be availed from e-seva centres.

“In order to offer better e-services with cheaper service charge to candidates, TNPSC’s online application and registration systems have been integrated with the common service centres established by TN Cable TV Corporation in all Taluk offices, 15 zonal offices and the headquarters in Ripon Buildings of the Chennai corporation,” Arulmozhi said.

“Altogether, the services will be offered in 280 locations,” he added. Arulmozhi assumes charge as chairman of TNPSC after the post had been lying vacant for more than a year since A. Navaneethakrishnan, AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP, resigned. “The e-service will also be extended to the common service centre maintained by Elcot shortly,” he added.

While Arulmozhi kept his media interaction short, he stated that prior allegations against TNPSC of its delays in processing applications, and holding exams etc will be rectified.

“I assure everyone that TNPSC will continue to function in a fair, transparent and candidate friendly manner. I need to take a stock of the current state of affairs before I being able to comment on them,” he concluded.
