More clues teams on anvil in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Zones under Hyderabad police commissionerate will soon get specialised assistance in the processing of evidence in crime cases, with the launch of new Clues Teams for each  division.

 

The city police that has only one team at present to do such work will get 17 new teams one team for each division and each team would consist of six staff members. 

 

Unlike  the present system of police teams visiting the scenes of murder and other sensational crimes, the new teams will step in, scientifically process  every crime scene and collect physical evidence.

 

Around 150 officers trained in various aspects related to crime processing will be inducted and each team will be equipped with latest gadgets.Clues teams play a key role in collecting physical evidence from the crime scene, officials said.

 

The one team in the city that is functional already consists of 10 officers. It has become difficult for cops to coordinate with the team, that is heavily burdened with work.
