YSRC protest march bid foiled
The leaders and activists were forced to drop the protest

Vijayawada: Attempts of YSRC leaders and activists to take out a protest march from Swarajya Maidan to Chief Minister’s camp office in city were foiled by city police. Condemning the forcible ending of indefinite fast by YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh, party leaders and activists planned to take out protest march and gathered at Swarajya Maidan which is close to CM’s camp office.
As police confronted the protesting partymen altercation occurred which led to commotion. Party leader Botsa Satyanarayana said that the state government had cheated people over Special Category Status and YSRC would not stop fighting for it.
Mr Umareddy Venkateswarlu condemned the act of police and government, which is not respecting elected representatives. The leaders and activists were forced to drop the protest and were shifted to various police stations including Suryarap Pet, Macha-varam, Satyanarayana Puram, Ibrahimapatnam, Bhavanipuram, Patamata, Krishna Lanka and others. YSRC leaders including P Gautham Reddy other senior leaders, MPs, MLAs and others were among the protesters.
