Mumbai: Here’s your sneak peek into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s well guarded ‘Bajirao Mastani’ sets. The periodic drama that is based on the life of the Maratha Peshawa is currently being shot in Pune, Maharashtra. We managed to get our hands on a few pictures of the sets where actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have been spending so much of their time.
Last week, it was reported that director Bhansali celebrated a year of shooting his ‘dream project’. According to previous reports, Bhansali went all out make sure that photos of the sets, his cast and costumes remained under wraps till the first trailer was released. Priyanka announced on Monday that she wrapped up shooting her scenes in Wai, on the banks of the river Krishna in Maharashtra. A picture of the star in a blue silk saree made its way online through the actress’ fan sites.
Pictures from the Wai sets show the team shooting a few scenes with the setting sun as the backdrop. A picture also shows a number of actors dressed as priests shooting a scene near a temple by the banks of the river. Apart from the oil torches, a huge statue of a brass lion was also captured on the film’s sets.
With the film's release just two months away, shooting is finally nearing its end. Deepika is currently shooting her final scenes at the Bhor Palace, in the town of Bhor (once a princely state) that is located 51 kms south of Pune.
We also spotted another pic of a door in one of the Pune palaces that has been named after Mastani. History states that the warrior princess secretly visited the Peshwa by sneaking in and out of the palace through these doors.
