We earlier reported that filmmaker Priyadarshan is busy helming his next project based on AIDS awareness, which was tentatively titled Sila Nerangalil starring Prakash Raj, Nasser, Sriya Reddy and Ashok Selvan.

Now, the film has got a new title Sila Samayangalil and the latest we hear is that Ilaiyaraaja will be composing music for the film. “Green light to announce Think Big Studios production number 3 in association with Prabhu Deva Studios directed by Priyadarshan sir, officially titled Sila Samayangalil. Also music maestro Ilaiyaraaja sir composing (sic) ,” Amala Paul wrote on Facebook.

Previously, the makers had plans to rope in AR Rahman for music, but we hear that Priyadarshan showed the whole film to Ilaiyaraaja and he was impressed with the film and gave a nod to do the background score. Sila Samayangalil was shot in a record time of lesser than 20 days and is yet to be decided if the movie will have any songs or maestro is doing only background score for the film.

A while ago in an interview to DC, Sriya Reddy has said that the film isn’t a run-of-mill commercial one, but a kind of film that people would love watching and appreciating at film festivals. This film is jointly produced by Amala Paul’s Think Big Studios and Prabhu Deva’s Prabhu Deva Studios. Santosh Sivan wields the camera for this film.
