Unpaid debts drive plastic company owner to suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The owner of a plastic manufacturing firm committed suicide on Thursday allegedly due to financial problems.

Malaram Choudhury, the chairman of Suman Plastics in Jeedimetla, hanged himself on the shutter in the premises of his company. He left a suicide note citing financial problems for his death.

The deceased, Malram Choudhury, 38, was staying along with his wife and son at Subhashnagar.

On Thursday he left for office from home at around 8.30 am. One of the employees who came at around 9.30 am found him hanging from the hook of a shutter.

“He hanged himself on the shutter hook with a nylon rope. He left a note at the spot saying that he was killing himself due to financial problems,” said inspector A. Chandra Shekar. A case under Section 174 was registered and the body was handed over to the family.

There is no clarity on the his debts. Police are trying to find details of persons to whom he had lent money and those who owe him.
