Problems started when victim wanted to end relationship

Guntur: In a role reversal of kinds, a woman poured acid on the face of her boyfriend, allegedly demanding that they live together.
Informing about the incident, which has become a sensation in Tenali in Guntur, circle inspector of police at Tenali Two-Town police station Kalyana Raju said that Ms Geetanjali, 30, poured acid on her boyfriend G. Venkateswarlu, 23 late on Thursday night at her house.
Mr Raju said that Ms Geetanjali, who was married, was having an extra marital relationship with Mr Venkateswarlu, who is about seven years younger than her.
He added that Ms Geetanjali had taken money from the victim when they were in the relationship. But problems started when the victim wanted to break off the affair. His marriage had been confirmed and he asked Ms Geetanjali to return the money.
She called him to her house on Thursday night to collect the money. But when he reached there, she poured acid on him, severely damaging his face and body.
Mr Venkateswarlu was shifted to a private hospital at Guntur. Based on information obtained from the hospital, police registered a case against Ms Geetanjali, who is absconding.
Mr Venkateswarlu said that she wanted to live with him and when he refused, Ms Geetanjali poured acid on him.
Meanwhile police said that both the victim and the accused have a tainted past. There are two cases pending against Mr Venkateswarlu regarding extra marital relations and sexual harassment. Mr Raju said that a case against him had been registered recently at the same station.
