The Airlift team, which includes Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur as the main leads, is waiting for Diwali holidays to begin in the schools of Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, because the shoot of their upcoming schedule is set to take place on school campuses.
It was earlier supposed to happen during summer vacations, but given the soaring temperatures in Rajasthan at the time, the team moved it to October.
Producer Nikhil Advani said, “We start shooting on October 25 and will wrap up by November 16. We wanted to shoot during the summer holidays, but given that the temperature reaches 500C, we decided to shift it to the Diwali holidays. The film is based on the true story of the evacuation operation done by Air India to rescue Indians trapped in Kuwait during the first Iraq war in 1990. It was the biggest human evacuation in the history. The film releases on January 22, 2016.”
The first schedule of the film was wrapped up in March in Ras Al Khaimah. The film is presented by T-Series and Cape of Good Films, produced by Abundantia Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment. Akshay and Nimrat have both given bulk dates for the project. After finishing Airlift, Akshay Kumar is believed to be starting the shoot of Rustom.
