Ever since ace director Mani Ratnam’s yet-to-be-titled bilingual was announced (that has Karthi, Nithya Menen in pivotal roles) there have been many changes to its cast. Dulquer Salmaan quit due to date issues, after which Keerthy Suresh walked out of the project citing she wouldn’t be appropriate for the role that she was offered. Now, it looks like Mani Ratnam is in talks with Fahadh Faasil for an important role, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Recently, DC published reports saying Saiyami Kher had been finalised to play a brief role after Naani was roped in. However, rumours are abuzz that the actors had apparently walked out because Mani decided to make the film bilingual, which didn’t interest them. One may recall earlier there were rumours that Mani Ratnam planned for a movie, which was also to be made in Malayalam featuring Dulquer Salman and Fahadh Faasil in the protagonists’ roles with Alia Bhatt’s name also doing the rounds along with it. However, the project did not materialise because of several reasons. “Somehow, things are not falling into the right place at the right time. Therefore, Mani Ratnam is in approaching different actors for the film,” says a source. Currently, cinematographer Ravi Varman and music director AR Rahman are a part of the technical crew.
