Akhil Akkineni’s film postponed

The release of Akhil Akkineni’s (son of Nagarjuna) film titled Akhil was slated to release on October 22, but now has been postponed. Looks like the filmmakers will soon officially announce the new release date. Actor Nithiin, who is co-producing the film, wrote on Twitter, “Due to delay in graphics work we are unable to release Akhil on Oct 22. Sorry for the delay. Will announce the new release date soon (sic).” Directed by VV Vinayak, the film also marks the debut of actress Sayyeshaa, granddaughter of veteran B’town actor Dilip Kumar.

Touted to be an out-and-out commercial film laced with fantasy elements, there were rumours earlier that Rajinikanth would introduce Akhil to Tamil cinema at an event. However, the actor, who’s busy shooting Kabali, hasn’t given the nod yet. Recently, there were reports that Nagarjuna will be seen in a guest role and will also perform a dance bit with Akhil in a song, which was shot in Hyderabad. The shooting of the film has already been completed.
