Hyderabad: A student from Nalgonda was shot dead, allegedly by his acquaintances, in Noida on Saturday evening.

Ramaraju Sandesh, a Second Year BSc.  Marine Science student studying at Amity University, was attacked when he opened the door of his rented flat in Sector 100, Noida. Police is yet to find the motive of the murder.

His parents, who live in Srinagar Colony in Nalgonda, have rushed to Noida.

Sandesh’s father, Mr Shyamsundar Rao, an assistant manager in a cooperative bank and mother, Ms Roopa, received information from the Noida police hours after the incident.

Sandesh’s relatives, meanwhile, said that he was not a quarrelsome boy and that he was good in studies. “We do not know why somebody would want to kill him,” said a relative.

He added that Sandesh was supposed to come home for Dasara holidays.

Meanwhile, the victim’s flatmate, Mathur, told the police that Sandesh was shot by two armed assailants when he opened the door after they knocked.

“Sandesh was staying in a rented flat with two other friends, Nadeem and Mathur. Nadeem told us that he heard the victim screaming and saying ‘Aman, do not kill me’,” said Sector 9 SHO  Zaheer Khan.

Sandesh was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead by doctors.

Police is investigating whether there was a love affair or revenge behind the murder.
